I was born in Paterson and raised in Midland Park. My fondest memories are of my dad taking me to Johnnie and Hanges for hot dogs. I am 53 and from the time I could walk untill I left Jersey in 1970 I ate and love texas weiners.I wish someone would open up a francise in Miami !

I am originally from Hawthorne, NJ. One of the things I miss living in Colorado is Johnny & Hanges all the way hot dogs. Maybe they will open a store in Denver.

I am thrilled to see that you are opening a J & H in Wayne. I go to your Fairlawn restaurant and love it! Wayne really needs a J & H in town.

I was born and raised in Fair Lawn. Graduated FLHS in 1970. I have been telling everyone I know about the best hot dog I have ever eaten for all these years. OMG - Johnny and Hanges makes the best dogs on earth. Too bad i live in CT where they don't know the first thing about hotdogs!

I grew up in North Jersey, but now live in New Hampshire. Whenever I get the chance, I stop in at J&H. Seeing this site and the menu makes me homesick. I feel a road trip coming on! Thanks for all the yummy food and the great memories!!

without saying my actual age (old) i'll just say i'm a baby boomer. On a few rare nights that my mother was'nt home cooking a hot meal we would have the rare treat of having johnny and hanges. my parents would be hard at work in paterson. on these occasions my mom would call and say I'll bring home johnny and hanges I guess you could say i was in heaven. now nearly fifty years ago i can remember the dogs fries and choclate milk like it was yesterday, thanks for the yummy memories!

I was watching "I Get That a Lot" tonight and couldn't believe it when I saw a t-shirt from Johnny and Hanges. I'm 69 and from Patterson and used to eat there with my best friend when we were 15. Great memories from such a long time ago.

Hi from Switzerland! I was born in Paterson and raised in Hawthorne (HHS Class of â??64). At least once a week my parents would drive over the bridge to Johnny and Hanges on River Street for â??soups and french to goâ?. Iâ??ll never forget those white paper packages weâ??d take home, nor will I forget the pizzeria across the street where we also used to go. It was great being a kid back in the 50â??s and 60â??s and J&H was a major part of it. Business and marriage took me to Switzerland back in 1970. I keep up the J&H tradition by making my own version of your famous sauce. I come close, but itâ??s just not the same. Unfortunately, I turned vegetarian back in the 80â??s, so all I have of your hot dogs today is memories. Hey how about a vegetarian version using meatless dogs! Next time Iâ??m in town Iâ??ll have to try your vegi sub. LEN ROUGHGARDEN â?? hey, we knew each other from school. You (and anyone else I know) can contact me through my website: www.switzerlandinsound.com Would love to hear from old Hawthorne friends. Bob

Circa..1970's me and my four siblings visiting my grandma hart on the east side of paterson. We were a bunch of white breads from Butler..and we loved going to see her and especially being treated to J & H, dogs fried and soday. As a young single women i I lived in CLifton area and am familiar with all the hot dog joints..you guys are high on the list. YUMMMMM.. Live back up here in nortern Passaic and we are lucky there are a few places..not as good as paterson so we make the trip down. thanks for the memories.

It is a favorite spot for us, my son and now his son (14 months old). We were there just last Saturday night and William not only loved his hotdog but some of our rounds. We come from Morris county. There is no place like J and H.
