Yesterday.. Johnny and Hange's opened the window of their hot dog stand at 855 River Street, Paterson on July 4,1939. Coincidentally on the very same day the great Yankee ball player, Lou Gehrig, made his retirement speech at the Bronx Bomber's stadium. On this side of the Hudson River, Johnny Scovish and Angelo (Hange) Mariano, seeing the lines of customers waiting to be served, must also have been thinking: "we must be the luckiest men on the face of the earth". From that day to the present, customers are enjoying their famous Jersey or known to some as Texas wieners: "All the Way!"

Today.. Just one mile from it's historic beginning, Fulvio (Phil) Grosso opened the doors to Johnny and Hange's new location at 23-20 Maple Avenue, Fair Lawn on September 9,1999. Phil enjoyed the very same feeling as his predecessors. Today at our new expanded location, some modifications have been made to keep up with the growing demand of better food quality and service. One item that could never be changed is Johnny and Hange's famous sauce. Our chili sauce is prepared with the exact same ingredients and care that our predecessors handed down to us.

The specifications of Johnny and Hange's hot dog are unlike any others. They are prepared with only the highest quality beef and pork blend. We have also recently introduced by popular demand an all beef quarter pound hot dog, affectionately known as the BIG DOG. Our BIG DOG can be served with the same toppings as our original dogs, or may we suggest Italian style, which includes potatoes and peppers. The present owner started in the food business back in 1970, operating a gourmet deli and prime meat store. With his butcher's background you can be assured that only the best cuts of beef go into our fresh made chopped beef & burgers. All butchering is done on the premises.
